‘This car’, which was ignored because of electric cars, is not available for sale these days

As subsidies for electric vehicles decrease and charging costs rise, more and more consumers are choosing hybrid vehicles instead of electric vehicles.

According to the industry on the 22nd, the number of domestic electric vehicle sales from January to July this year is 78,466 units.

Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 13.6%, but this is a significant drop compared to last year’s increase of 75.6%.

Domestic sales of Ioniq 5, Hyundai Motor’s representative electric vehicle, from January to July of this year decreased by 40.4% from a year ago.

It was found that the growth of electric vehicles in the global market as well as in Korea has slowed significantly.

A total of 4,342,487 electric vehicles were sold worldwide in the first half of this year.

Sales increased by 41% compared to the same period last year. Global electric vehicle sales growth rate peaked at 115.5% in 2021 and plummeted to 61.2% last year. And that’s down to 41% this year. At the current trend, it seems difficult to exceed 50% this year.

In a situation where the trend of high interest rates continues, the fact that each country has even reduced subsidies for purchasing electric vehicles has had an impact.

China and the UK have completely eliminated electric vehicle subsidies from this year, and Korea has reduced them by nearly스포츠토토 half to less than 7 million won.

In addition, with the successive rises in electricity rates, charging rates for electric vehicles also rise, and the advantage of ‘cheap maintenance costs’ is disappearing.

In addition, while the total number of registered electric vehicles is 450,000, the cumulative number of EV chargers is 194,000, and only 21,000 of these are rapid chargers. The number of electric vehicles per fast charger is the national average of 18.9.

Charging facilities are unable to keep up with the increasing number of electric vehicles, and by the end of this year, the number of electric trucks (electric 1-ton commercial vehicles) is expected to increase by more than 60%, making charging more difficult.

In this situation, more and more people are purchasing hybrid vehicles instead of electric vehicles.

As of last month, Hyundai-Kia Motors’ electric vehicle sales decree decreased by 8.5% from a year ago, but hybrid vehicle sales increased by 32.4%.

In addition, electric cars can receive a new car within a month after signing a purchase contract, but the industry explains that hybrid cars have to wait for more than six months in most cases.
