LPGA star Thompson participates in men’s golf tournament Shriners


 American Women’s Professional Golf (LPGA) tour star player Lexi Thompson (USA) will participate in the men’s professional tournament.

According to the Associated Press on the 5th, Thompson will participate as an invited player in the PGA Tour Shriners Children’s Open, which opens at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, USA on the 12th local time, and compete against 131 male players.

Thompson becomes the seventh female player to compete against men in a PGA Tour event.

Babe Didrickson Zaharias was the first to compete in a men’s competition in 1935, and the last was Brittany Lincicome at the 2018 Barbasol Championships.

Thompson, 28, made her professional debut at just 15토토사이트 years old and has won 11 times in her career on the LPGA Tour. In 2007, she set a record by qualifying for a major tournament, the US Women’s Open, at the age of 12.

Last year’s winner of the Shriners Tournament, with a total prize money of $8.4 million (approximately 11.39 billion won), was Korea’s Kim Joo-hyung.
