PSG took the lead in the third minute of the first half. From a corner kick, Dembele’s cross was met by Mbappe, who got his right foot on the ball and headed it into the corner of the net to give PSG a 1-0 lead.
Reims equalized shortly afterward, but the goal was ruled out for offside. In the seventh minute of the first half, Tarami’s cross from the left flank was met by Ito, who rattled the net with a right-footed shot. However, the goal was disallowed after VAR showed that Tarami was offside.
From then on, PSG were pushed around by Reims. Reims threatened PSG’s goal with 12 shots in the first half alone, but were unable to find the back of the net as Donnarumma made several saves.
In the second half, PSG broke the deadlock. In the 14th minute of the second half, PSG attacked quickly on the counter-attack and scored their second goal when Mbappe slotted home a pass from Soler on the right side of the penalty box in an exquisite move.
Reims then pushed PSG aggressively in search of a third goal. But as in the first half, Donnarumma kept PSG in the game with a series of incredible saves.
Eventually, Mbappe completed his hat trick. In the 37th minute of the second half, substitute Barcola made a perfect run down the right flank and found Mbappe inside the penalty box. No one in the Reims defense was able to stop Mbappe, and he slid it in with his right foot to complete his hat trick.
Lee Kang-In started the game. Starting in central midfield, he was PSG’s link in the middle. He was active in the middle of the park and even attempted a daring mid-range shot from the edge of the area that was headed straight at the keeper.
At the start of the second half, Lee was up front. Playing between Mbappe and Dembele, he pressed from the front and played a zero-top role. He didn’t just stay on the front line, moving between the left flank and the center. Lee was subbed off in the 32nd minute for N’Dour and finished the game.
